Fraser Evans & Sons Ltd is a family business that has grown into one of the UK’s foremost tyre reprocessing companies and tyre shred suppliers. We provide a high level of personal service, technical expertise and industry know-how.

About Fraser Evans

Fraser Evans and Sons Ltd. was founded more over 40 years ago as a small family business based in Witney, Oxfordshire. In the decades since then our tyre reprocessing service has grown to employ a dedicated team and run a fleet of eight specialised vehicles, offering a collection service across the whole of the UK and a convenient, affordable answer to the issue of dealing with tyres at the end of their working life.

Our tyre reprocessing plant is capable of handling up to 200 tonnes of tyres in a single week. In simple terms that means we repurpose, reprocess and recycle as many as 25,000 tyres every seven days.

Our status in the wider industry is underlined by the fact that we are a founder member of the Tyre Recovery Association, as well as being fully signed up to the Tyre Industry Council’s Responsible Recycler Scheme. This represents a guarantee that every tyre we collect for recycling or reprocessing is disposed of or repurposed in a manner which is environmentally friendly.

Tyre Reprocessing

Tyre Reprocessing

More than 40 million tyres reach the end of their useful life every year in the UK. Since July 2006 it has been illegal to simply send these surplus tyres to landfill. As a result, 25% of these tyres are repurposed in a variety of ways, while the other 75% are reprocessed.

We help to make this possible by providing a UK wide service which is efficient, convenient and affordable. Once we’ve shred or granulated tyres at our plant in Witney, Oxfordshire, they are put to a range of uses.

Our positive impact on the environment doesn’t end there, however. We supply tyre shred as fuel to cement manufacturers, to provide them with an alternative to coal fire kilns. This cuts the emission of nitrogen oxides and therefor greatly reduces the overall environmental impact of the cement plant.

Responsible Tyre Disposal and Recycling

Responsible Tyre Disposal and Recycling

Our experience is in reprocessing car, truck, agricultural and earthmover tyres. If you require disposal or recycling of tires at the end of their lifespan then we offer convenience, value and efficiency just a phone call or email away.

We operate a collection service across the whole of the UK, utilising our fleet of distinctive, specialised vehicles. These vehicles are licenced to carry any waste tyres back to our processing plant in Witney, Oxfordshire, in a manner which is quick, simple and affordable.

Once they’ve been delivered to our plant, your tyres will be put through our specialised shredding equipment to be recycled and repurposed into material for a range of industrial purposes. These include tyre-derived rubber, cement kiln fuel and sports and recreational surfaces.

Our national reach and in depth industry knowledge with a commitment to the finest levels of personal service. When it comes to tyre reprocessing or supplying tyre shred you simply won’t find a better service anywhere in the UK.

Responsible Recycler

The disposal of waste tyres poses a huge potential risk to the environment. The Tyre Industry Council’s (TIC) Responsible Recycler Scheme is an independent industry body which was created to introduce and maintain across the board, world-class standards for the collection and management of tyres which have reached the end of their useful life.

In just four years, the scheme has grown to cover the majority of tyre collectors and processors in the UK. It ensures that all members meet the strictest standards of compliance and accountability when collecting and managing waste tyres, which in turn helps to encourage an industry wide attitude of professionalism and pride in the service provided.

Tyre Recycling Legislation

The law in the UK changed in July 2006, making it illegal for the vast majority of waste tyres to be disposed of in landfill sites. Here at Fraser Evans and Sons Ltd. we provide a simple, convenient and affordable alternative in line with this legislation.

If you produce waste tyres you have a duty of care which extends from the moment those tyres leave your premises until they have been correctly recovered or disposed of. It is your responsibility, therefore, to make sure that they are collected by a registered waste carrier offering a guarantee that they will be recovered or disposed of in line with current legislation. Any waste tyres must also be stored in a safe manner which prevents the risk of fire.

Our recycling service provides the legal and environmental solution to dispose of all your tyres. If you have car, truck, agricultural or earthmover tyres, we can collect them in our licenced vehicle and take them to our plant in Witney, Oxford to be reprocessed.

If you produce waste tyres and have any questions about current legislation, or would like general advice, please contact us on 01993 700887 or send us an email.
